Accessibility statement

American School is committed to ensuring that its website is accessible to people with disabilities, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Conformance status

This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. It is built with semantic HTML, works with keyboard navigation and screen readers, keeps a minimum 4.5:1 color contrast for text, respects the operating system’s reduced-motion setting, and lets you pause moving content such as the background video.

The site is partially conformant: some content does not yet fully conform, as described below.

Known limitations

  • Several documents (academic calendar, book and materials lists, uniform guide, homework and The Ram Page magazine) are PDF files that may not be tagged for screen readers. We provide the same information in an accessible format on request.
  • Some announcements and flyers are published as images. We provide their text on request.
  • The video in the News section does not have captions yet. We provide a description of its content on request.
  • Third-party services linked from this site (CollegeOne, Google Maps, Facebook and Instagram) are not under our control and may not meet the same standard.
